A folk song is a song or music that presents a culture of a nation. It’s usually sung by a chair groups of people. This year, Darunnajah held a long-lost Folk song Competition Inter-dormitory. This big event was held on Tuesday, November, 20, 2018. Due to sixth grade examinations, the fifth graders were responsible to this event. This competition is placed in Darunnajah Sport Hall.
Fifty students from each dormitory (Rinba A, Rinba B, Nusantara A, Nusantara B and Makkah) became delegations to this competition. The folk song competition is opened by an opening speech by Dr. KH. Sofwan Manaf, M.Si., Principal of Darunnajah Islamic Boarding School, followed by a grand opening dance performed by thrid graders.
Rinba A Dormitory performed Kun Anta Choir sang by Humood Alkhuder. Kun Anta is an arabic song that motivates us to be yourself, without thinking the others’ prespective toward us.
Rinba B Dormitory performed Atouna El Toufoule, a song that sympathizes and tolerances the poor kids that are being attacked by counqurers from the other.
Nusantara A Dormitory performed Meraih Bintang a song by Via Vallen, except it is translated to Arabic. This song is created in order to motivate the parcipants of Asian Games 2018.
Nusantara B Dormitory performed “Show Off the World” a song that motivates us to be brave in each of our actions.
Finally, Makkah Dormitory performed “We are the World”, Michael Jackson’s song for Haiti, sang by 25 various from all over the world.
